Biweekly Payroll Deductions Variance Explanation
Some employees may have noticed minor differences on current payslips compared to our those generated in our legacy system:
- Federal, State and Local Withholding - Different software systems—particularly legacy platforms like our previous payroll system—may not have incorporated the most recent tax updates issued by Federal, State, and Local authorities. As a result, you may notice minor differences in withholding amounts, typically ranging from a few cents to a few dollars.
- Supplemental Life and ADD Insurance - In the prior Payroll system, the insurance premium rate table used to calculate this deduction was limited to only rounding two decimal places. Waveworks added the capability of using the actual three decimal place rate.
- Time Calculation - The prior timekeeping system rounded time clock punches to the tenth of an hour – Waveworks uses the exact time worked.
NEW: As part of WaveWorks, account strings changed. There is a new easy-to-use tool called the Crosswalk, to translate your account strings effortlessly between the legacy TAMS format and the new WaveWorks structure.
On this interactive tool you can enter one organization number to get all of the projects associated with that org. You can also enter the TAMS GL account number to get the new string (org number not required).
Departmental Software
In some cases, with the update at Go-Live to the Active Directory (our internal employee directory), departmental software may require updates to the application log-in information. If this occurs, please view the guidance.
